Wedding Card - with photos

Today I'm sharing another beautiful project for an order I received.
This is a wedding gift - Greeting card cum Mini photo album as I have
included few photos in this card.

I have used dies from Aarty Crafty, DMC as well as from Heartfelt Creations.
The paper pack is one of my favorite collections from
DMC - Hydrangea lawns paper pack.

The card size is quite big enough to hold many elements in it. I have included some pocket accents with inserts, flip folds, gift pouch along with the photos.
The whole card folds in with a magnetic closure.
As it was a wedding gift, I wanted some twist with the flowers and its color from red or white roses, to simple big flowers with bright colors which matched the paper pack.
I have also used the fussy cut elements from the same paper pack and for added interest, I have used few shaped tags along the side of the card.
Though it was really time consuming, I enjoyed every second in creating this project,
love the outcome... :)

Prika Monthly challenge - Butterfly card

Hello all, sharing my second project for Prika monthly challenge.
Monthly Challenge

I have used a white card base measuring 5x7'' . I used another layer of embossed card stock which measures 1/4th'' smaller on all sides than the card base. Then I lightly shaded the raised part of the embossing with Mermaid lagoon distress oxide ink.
For the focal point element with the butterflies - I first colored a piece of white cardstock with Squeezed lemonade, Lucky clover and Mermaind lagoon distress oxide inks in a rainbow order. Then used cascading butterfly die to cut the butterflies out of it. I also die cut the embossed card stock with the same die by placing it in the arrangement I required.

Then I used the border of the die cut piece from the colored card stock and adhered it to the embossed layered and secured the whole panel to the card base.
Later I applied some Nuvo glimmer paste on the butterflies and adhered
them randomly around the border die-cut.
I used a sentiment from one of GinaKDesigns stampset and adhered it to the bottom of the card along with a mat layer. Finished off the card by adding some Nuvo drops.
Supplies used:
* 280gsm,180gsm White card stocks
* Flourish embossing folder
* Cascading butterfly die
* Distress oxide inks - Mermaid lagoon, Lucky clover, Squeezed lemonade.
* Jet Black Archival ink.
* GinaKDesigns - Thinking of you stamp set
* Nuvo - Moonstone glitter paste
* Nuvo drops - Carribean ocean, Bottle green.

I used the same pattern paper to cut out some borders and distressed the edges with Cactus flower archival ink. I created the flowers using DMC - make a flower dies and leaves using Oakberry lane set from Heartfelt Creations. Used archival inks for coloring all the elements.

Craft Enthusiast of the Week

Altered Embroidery Hoop

To begin with, I took 2 embroidery hoops (1 large and 1 small), attached a cotton cloth along with thin chipboard sheet to secure everything in place. This will make the base sturdy as well. Then I applied heavy white gesso on both the hoops and let it dry.

I took pattern papers from Craftangels - Wanderlust collection, cut it slightly smaller than the frames to fit inside it and distressed the edges with scissors and sponged all around the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. To add texture for the base, I used modelling paste mixed with distress inks and applied it on both the pattern papers.

I also colored the frames with a mixture of white gesso and Peacock feathers distress ink. Once it was dry, I adhered the pattern papers securely to the hoop bases. I then secured the small frame to the larger one on the right hand side by gluing chipboard pieces beneath the small frame along with some thin wire to hold the frame from falling off.

Next I applied one-step crackle medium around the frame border and once that was dry, I applied a coat of color (white gesso + Amethyst metallic paint from Prima) on top of it. Later I used Papericious spritz in the color Baby pink and sprayed over the base to tone it down along with the color of the frame border.

I took some die-cut pieces along with few metal and clay embellishments (primed with white gesso) and distressed the edges of all the elements using Seedless Preserves, Mustard Seed and Vintage photo distress inks.

Here are the flowers and leaves I have planned to use in the project. I created them using Arianna blooms set and Delightful daisy set from Heartfelt creations and colored them using Archival inks. The filler flowers are made using Oakberry lane set from Heartfelt Creations along with some other foliage die-cuts.

After arranging and adhering all the elements, I used crystal clear glitter on the flowers and added some mixed colors of micro-beads around the frame. I then applied a coat of Vintage gold wax (Prima) to highlight the texture on the frame. Finally finished off by adding few clear water droplets.
Here are some more close-up looks of the project.
